Blizzard / Feature

Well, let me just say I'm glad I never decided to take that trip up the Pentland hills today, as I would have been truly fucked with this mega blizzard that just started. The snow is pouring down in huge flakes, not been like this in a long time. I can't see many people going anywhere over the weekend if it keeps up at this rate. It's really nice though, and I hope at some point I can get out and get my first shots of snow with my camera.

How is everyone doing anyway? Is it snowing where you are? I can't wait till my holiday's start, my last day of work is the 23rd, and I don't go back till the 5th January, nearly two weeks!
As for Christmas shopping, I've pretty much bought for everyone, and already done most of the wrapping, so I'm happy about that.

This morning I got my panoramic print of Light of the Forth, and I'm very happy with the final outcome. I got it printed at 20x10 from Digitalab, who I highly reccomend for prints if you're from the UK. I am now going to find the best local framing company, and get the print mounted, and framed so I can put it on my bedroom wall. I also think my parents want the same for the livingroom, I can't wait to see it! There's nothing better than finally seeing all your hard work in a top quality hard copy, and every photographer will agree with me there I'm sure.

I have also ordered 13 smaller prints for a calendar to give to my family as a Christmas gift. So I look forward to seeing that all put together, and their faces when they open it. It's just my best landscape shots from 2009 in 7x5, I have decided to not make a proper, larger, and more professional calendar as I would like to wait until next year when I have a broader selection of photographs from the different seasons.
Over the Christmas holiday's, and in the new year, I will be spending a lot more money on traveling to the more grand landscapes in my home country of Scotland, as well as locations abroad such as Iceland, France, and Switzerland I hope. With everything I have learned this year, I am really looking forward to all the new posibilities, and techniques I can put into practice, along with using all my new gear to their fullest.


Also, a huge thank you to everyone that has supported myself, and my work over the year, it truly means a lot to me! Seeing as it's the Christmas season, I think I'll give out some dA subscriptions to people that have stood out, and gave me that extra bit of encouragement, support, and time. For now though, enjoy some of my recent favorites here on dA, they deserve every bit of attention they get, each excellent in their own ways...
