To The North by FlippinPhil To The North by FlippinPhil
As I now have my Lee Big Stopper filter, along with the adaptor ring and holder to properly use it, I decided to venture out at sunset to see what the sky was like. I noticed some amazing clouds in the distance as I was driving locally, and then realised a lot were around the Forth Bridges.
This shot was taken from S. Queensferry, a very popular tourist destination, and also popular for locals and people getting married to have their receptions.

This is a manual blend of two separate exposures, one taken at 1/2 a second, and the other a long exposure at 240 seconds.

Yeah most definitely, will have to be a normal exposure, long exposure pano would be impossible to stitch haha! Cheers mate!

you've got grads and all haven't you? easy peasy :) what was the 1/2 second exposure here for btw mate?

Yeah but the movement of the clouds between each shot to stitch would be off surely.. the 1/2 a second exposure was for the foreground to blend in.

if it was a long exposure yeah, just have to do it normal stylee I guess!

Great sky here and good compo as always. ;)

The filter doesn't change the colors too much? it looks okay there anyway.
I ask because I might buy such a filter, I only had a ND8 stop a long time ago but didn't like the colors it made.

It causes a very subtle blue cast which can be very easily corrected with the white balance, it's an amazing filter in my opinion!

Oh nice well, I might buy one some day. Cause my old ND8 transformed everything in a strong purple. =)
