This is looking through the valley of Glen Croe on the opposite side of Loch Lomond in Scotland. 'Rest and be thankful' is the actual name of the place this was taken from, and I don't think I need to explain why.

Look closely at the bottom of the valley, there is a very old house down there, all on its own. Imagine living in this huge valley, with nothing but a vast landscape full of mountains, trees, rivers, and wildlife surrounding you. I wonder what it would be like in the Winter as well, when the snow falls. Would the house be snowed under, it seems likely.

UPDATE: Final adjustments made with exposure corrections, minor burning and dodging, and some proper sharpening.

I hope you all like. :+fav:

What an amazing view! The contrast between the light and the shadows is really excellent - it caught my eye straight away.

This is beautiful.. The contrast between the sunny parts and the cloud cover is amazing. It's scenes like this that make me want to live in the countryside. I had hoped to take photos like this in Ireland in the summer but there just wasn't enough time =(
