Crail by FlippinPhil Crail by FlippinPhil
Crail
East coast, Scotland

My first submission with my new Sigma 10-20mm lens. It was a very cold morning, the frost had settled on my car over night. I warmed up the car, got all my gear, and set off into the darkness to my designated destination.
After driving for an hour and a half, watching out for frost on the country roads, I reached my location as the sun was soon to rise above the horizon. The only noise I could hear as I left my car, and walked down to the coast were the waves, and the seagulls.
As soon as I got down to the rocky beach, I remembered all the great colours, and textures it had to offer.

Handheld 0.9 Hitech GND filter used for the sky.

Not at all. This particular shot is indeed one shot, using a 0.9 soft edge hitech gnd filter.

Nice! I wonder if you could have recovered anything from the highlights... although it's fine as it is.

I've done the best I could with the highlights, I should have stopped down further at the time, or stacked another gnd filter on there...

I love those little black rocks. The light shining of them is great. My crit on this would be pretty much the same as on Crail II. The composition is also maybe a bit scattered, asking for a stronger leading line or anchor. Regardless of that, you are putting your new lens to good use.
